The slain bodies of Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found in their Los Angeles home by their daughter, sources told The Post.
Romy Reiner found her parents stabbed to death on Sunday afternoon, according to the sources, who said the couple’s troubled son, Nick Reiner, is being eyed as a person of interest.
LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton told reporters that no arrests had been made, but investigators were interviewing family members.
“We’re going to try to speak to every family member that we can to get to the facts of this investigation,” he said.
Officials did not initially identify the Reiners as the pair found dead, but the harrowing news was confirmed by their family.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” Reiner’s family said in a statement.
Rob Reiner married photographer Michele Singer in 1989. The couple had three children together: sons Jake and Nick, and daughter Romy. Rob Reiner also has a daughter, Tracy Reiner, from his first marriage to actress and filmmaker Penny Marshall.
Nick Reiner has spoken in the past about his issues battling drug addiction and homelessness.
His struggles, which he said began in his teens, were the basis for his semi-autobiographical 2015 film “Being Charlie,” which he co-wrote and was directed by his father.
“I was homeless in Maine. I was homeless in New Jersey. I was homeless in Texas. I spent nights on the street. I spent weeks on the street. It was not fun,” he told People in an interview in 2016.
Jake Reiner, the eldest, worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, including on projects connected to his father, according to People.
He has worked as a producer and production executive but has maintained a mostly private life.
Romy Reiner has largely shied away from the limelight but has occasionally appeared with her father in public. The iconic director of “The Princess Bride,” 78, and his 68-year-old wife were found dead in their Brentwood home around 3:30 p.m. — but their bodies are believed to have been there for some time, sources told The Post.
